Whimsical Pastel Witch

During this project I have become very familiar with my cursed seam ripper. I have shed literal blood and tears for this one, but I am absolutely in love with the end results!

Every design begins with an idea, so I made an idea/inspo board. I did not want a bland wizard in a plain cloak. I wanted BIG sleeves. An adorable hat. And tons of whimsy. 

Pastels really had me out of my comfort zone here. I'm usually all for the dark colours.

But I proceeded onward and gathered my materials. Some came from my fabric stash, others I happily rescued from the thrift store. I was very lucky to find so many good thrift finds for this design. I leaned in HARD with the pastel pinks.

I made every single part of this outfit with my own two hands. The pieces in question:

1. Embossed duchess satin corset

Back and front lace for extra adjustability and cute lacing detail ath the back. Corsets are my specialty!

2. A three tiered skirt

Singlehandedly the garment that made me seam rip for 84 years and absolutely lose it! The initial plan called for way more fabric ruffles, but the fabric(flowy airflow) simply was not working with my vision. So I toned it down a bit. BUuuut... It has pockets! So I can store all my treasures!

3. The white chemise(so soft!)

One of the garments born from the perfect thrifted materials. Big voluminous sleeves for that super wizard whimsical look.

4. The pink tie on bell sleeves

Another thrift flip. To add even more wizard robe big sleeve energy. I  ( I had to wash my own blood out of this one after stabbing myself with a pin😅🩹)

5. The accessories

I made a matching pastel wizard hat with tons of embellishments and a BIG BOW, a little broom wand (I went out into the wild to collect this grass!) and a skirt hike for my belt.

I painted a little bag a while ago and thought it looked good with the outfit.

All of these pieces come together to create the one and only Azathene.

Azathene (half elf) is an unusual character. She adores pink & she is a divination wizard. She can, somewhat, see into the future. You see 👀, she dislikes surprises so much that she has dedicated her life's work to never being surprised again. All because she could not stand waiting to find out what birthday gifts she would receive.

Oh and she uses a little magical broom as her wand.
